Illinois State's Official Non Con
10/29 Wooster (EXH)
11/07 Western Illinois
11/10 at Eastern Illinois
11/12 at Northwestern State
11/17 Northwestern State
11/21 vs Louisiana State (Cayman)
11/22 vs Akron or Western Kentucky (Cayman)
11/23 vs Kansas State, Nevada, Rhode Island or Tulane(Cayman)
12/07 Eastern Michigan
12/10 Southern Illinois-Edwardsville
12/17 vs Ball State (at Indianapolis)
12/19 Chicago State

I'm fine with this for year one. Hopefully will show improvement next year. I know it's a brand new team but every player on the roster has multiple years of D1 experience. With this schedule, they should go into conference with a winning record.

It's interesting that ISU didn't get bought at all.

Is ISU really playing a home-and-home with Northwestern State, or is this a typo?

Unfortunately, not a typo. Here's an article providing some rational behind the schedule. Pedon prioritized building a roster over getting the schedule set for year 1. So, instead of trying to find another game for '22, getting through the H/H this year opens up two slots for the '23 season. He mentions this year's schedule is not indicitive of his scheduling philosophy moving forward.

He also wanted to challenge the guys with back to back road games with a quick turn. At EIU on the 10th and down to NW State on the 12. Quick turn, will have to study up. MTE/MVC Tournament type of turnaround.

https://pantagraph.com/sports/college/illinois-state/illinois-states-basketball-team-faces-western-illinois-on-nov-7-in-ryan-pedons-first-game/article_054898c8-1f07-11ed-bbd9-a78634327bbf.html#tracking-source=home-top-story

SIUE is a buy game. Chicago State should be the end of a series Muller put together. There may be one more game @Chicago State, though. I'm assuming EIU and WIU are probably H/H. Eastern Michigan is the return game from last year and Ball State is a one off neutral site game, though the Birds did have a H/H with them the last two seasons.

So, for '23 we're likely looking at
@WIU
@Chicago St.
EIU

So, Pedon will have more flexibility with the '23 schedule.

Yeesh, that makes me feel much better about BU’s schedule.

11/15 - vs. Eastern Michigan (Cancun Challenge)

12-6 - @ SIU Edwardsville
12-17 - vs. Arkansas ("Neutral" Site game in Little Rock)
12-19 - vs. Stonehill
12-22 - vs. Akron

Bradley stumbled into a good schedule. It should have been the plan all the way...but glad they got there in the end.

How do you know that it wasn't the plan the entire time for this season?

I don't think I'd go there. Illinois State is a first year coach in a total rebuild. Bradley should be out playing top level schedules with where the program is and are obviously choosing not to.

BUs schedule isn't awful, it's also not great.

Like how you knew Ja'Shon and Marcus Domask weren't coming back?

Three Q1 games, one or two Q2 games. I mean yeah the bottom end of it is bad, but I'm not sure we could do "that" much better. Maybe I'm wrong though. Are a lot of other teams with theoretical at large chances going into this season playing 5+ Q1 games?
