UIC 2023 Recruiting

UIC received their first commit in 2023 SG Ethan Pickett. Pickett comes to UIC from
JUCO where he averaged 11.4 PPG and 5.4 RPG. He’s JUCO this year at Triton (IL).

The big one for UIC is Macaleab Rich. He’s a 6’5” 200 lb SG from East St. Louis. He just completed his final official visit to UIC after visiting Kansas State, Ole Miss, and Missouri. Those four are his final 4 and he will be announcing on Sept 26th. He’s up to #129 on 247 sports.

He would be a great get for UIC. He would have an open position at UIC and also one of UIC’s incoming Freshman is also from East St. Louis so I think there’s a real chance.

To this point, UIC has 6 new players for 2023-24: 6'4" G Ethan Pickett (2 years eligibility); 6'3" G Andrew King (3 yrs); 6'5" G Isaiah Rivera (1yr); 6'1" G Marquise Kennedy (1 yr); 6'7" SG Nathan Ojukwu (Freshman); 6'3" PG Grant Welch (Walk-on)

Not counting Yaklich, the Flames have 11 scholarship players lined up for 23-'24. They've offered a couple big men, which we sorely need!
