Missouri State [22-7 (14-3), RPI: 47, SOS: 151]
After Saturday's blowout BracketBusters loss at Valparaiso, Missouri State's bubble outlook is essentially the same as Wichita State's. The Bears have to win the regular-season title and almost certainly have to at least reach the MVC tourney championship game to have a chance of sneaking in. Wednesday's road win at Illinois State doesn't change that. There's just not enough on the nonconference record for either the Shockers or the Bears to hope for amnesty if they do anything less than that in the coming weeks. And that includes beating Wichita State at home Saturday.
Wichita State [23-6 (14-3), RPI: 49, SOS: 96]
Somehow, Wichita State is still hanging around. The Watch figured Friday night's one-point home loss to VCU would take the Shockers out of bubble contention, but upon further review, the MVC regular-season champ could -- repeat: could -- sneak into the tournament with a runner-up finish in the MVC conference tournament. One thing is for sure: To have even a remote, one-in-a-million chance of sneaking in as an at-large, the Shockers have to take the conference title by winning on the road Saturday at Missouri State.
