We play no games this week as we remember our Men from 1977.

Northern Iowa just lost at the buzzer to South Florida

These kids just need something to go right. Guy that hadn't made a shot in forever throws in a 35 footer with Born in perfect position. Maybe we get beat in overtime but these kids deserved to have that chance.

Onward and upward. The encouraging thing is how hard they continue to play when it would be real easy not to right now. We get Heise back in a couple weeks and we'll see where we're at.

There are some strange twists and turns to this incredibly sad story. Jerry Sloan taking the job, and backing out a week later to the player who missed the flight due to an ankle injury being killed in an auto accident just two weeks later.

The USF player had 15 points prior to the beautiful shot that he hit at the buzzer. Maybe Born being held scoreless until under 2 minutes in the game contributed more to the loss.

Took a little luck to even get back into that game. UNI is not a good basketball team right now. But they will get better.
