I've followed Saluki sports closely for nearly three decades and in that time there was only a couple years when SIU had what I'd consider to be an above-average beat writer in Paul Klee, who went on to become a columnist in Denver. Mike Reis is the Saluki GOAT on the radio side but the print coverage over the years has left A LOT to be desired.

This current guy who took over for Hefferman is a decent writer but brings very little to the table when it comes to anything other than mundane game coverage and previews, so he is very much in the mold of Hefferman in that regard.

I get Gannett is a crapshow, but do something. They have crapped all over the Evansville paper as well, but our guy is still covering all of the games.

For now... given that Gannett cut the USI writer position earlier this month and assigned Anthony to cover USI as well, I wouldn't expect coverage of all the Aces games to continue.

We had DR and KW, we now have a hockey beat writer who couldn’t care less for BU because local journalism is dying.

Idk if he is a beat reporter but I follow Jeff Bidwell for Murray St.

Haven't been able to find anyone for UIC or a replacement for Todd at Indiana St.

UIC has no beat writer. Years ago, it was Bill Jauss.
