Not a player but SIU just lost their lead recruiter to Green Bay, Pat Monaghan. I’m hoping there’s a plan here:

They supposedly have strong connections with the Chicago AAU circuit, but I haven't seen any benefits yet. Need some St. Louis AAU connections or a person who is a portal guru to bring in talent.

Indiana State gets Swope from Southern Indiana. Great pick-up for them. Wanted him at SIU. Him and Avila will terrorize the Valley.

I have read where Dick Durbin has helped SIU tremendously in funding efforts towards large campus and city projects.

He was a freshman for Vanderbilt with a lot of potential and good size. I think this will be an upgrade for us, in spite of his lack of minutes. He is a local guy. Here's what the Vandy site says about him.

Ranked as nation’s No. 31 power forward by ESPN
Ranked as state’s No. 5 recruit, nation’s No. 28 power forward by Rivals
