My name is Maximus Forwarus Nelsonus, member of the team of the North Indiana, not-so-loyal servant to the true emperor, Valparaisus. Player to a fired coach, student at a struggling school. And I will have my playing time, not in this school, but the next!

I'll have to say, no coach seems to be working the portal harder than Murray's coach Prohm. I couldn't count how many in the portal have reported that they heard from Murray State. For the league's sake, I hope they pick up a couple of those good ones.

Just wait until he starts bringing in complete and total weirdos like he did at Iowa State.

You have to start to wonder if bringing him back was that smart of a move. It was convenient for both, but was it really the best they could have done. I get it based on his previous success, but it sure has been a rocky first year. I suspect he'll bring in some talent, so they'll have a chance if he can indeed establish a winning culture again. But it won't be easy as the top of the Valley has some solid coaches in Jake, Devries, Wardle, and others. Even to be the king of talented messes he'll have to out do Ford.

I mean, he got left the world the first time at Murray and then left the world at Iowa State. I could've gotten to a Sweet 16 with the Niang, Morris, Thomas, McKay, Burton group. That group underachieved because he let them coach themselves instead of making it his program right away and then the parade of weirdos started and he happened to get lucky that one of those weirdos was Tyrese Haliburton.

The AD at Iowa State didn't even want him, he wanted Otzelberger then. The president at the time demanded somebody with head coaching experience. That's the same president that crashed the university plane, immediately left for Auburn and got fired at Auburn in like 18 months.

I agree with you that he's got a long way to go to get competitive in this league and I'm not sure he's a top half coach. I take Jacobson, DeVries, Wardle, Alexander and Schertz without even thinking twice. Ford seems to thrive on chaos. He'd be in the Mullins/Pedon tier for me and I know Pedon's guys played a whole lot harder down the stretch than Prohm's guys did.
