For all the whining about the portal, I think the Valley is reloading pretty well right now compared to last year. Won't be a multiple bid league again but I think it'll be more competitive top to bottom. Really only SIU and Valpo have been hurt and haven't recovered yet.

It has been extremely disappointing to see how little SIU has done this offseason with the transfer portal. They seriously can't think they are bringing back strong offensive talent based upon how little everyone outside Domask and Jones scored last season.

SIU should be getting some soon. Seems like UIC is gonna get a big addition though

What are you hearing about UIC and where are you getting this from?

A fellow Chicago player that SIU was originally in on. Rumor is SIU backed out on him.

@Kyle_Saluki_17, You're implying that SIU didn't want Marquise Kennedy with one of its five open scholarships, despite bringing him down for a visit recently? Because I find that quite hard to believe, unless conversations went really sideways during his recruitment.

Bradley backed off Kennedy early this time around. I don’t know if it’s health related or something else.

I don’t know if “backed out” is the proper terminology but I think SIU would’ve had him if they promised the playing time he wanted. I have two guesses on what it could be. 1. Not promising the playing time/starting role he wanted. 2. Something health related.

Personally I wanted Kennedy. But I’ll wait to see what we end up with.

On the playing time/starting front, there's no doubt he'd be a starter as things stand at the moment with a very depleted personnel outlook in the backcourt. Could that change in the coming weeks, I suppose, but I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if SIU added two guards better than Kennedy to start at the 2/3 spots.
