I'd be okay with that too but there's nowhere for them to go unfortunately. The NEC and Big South will never take them because they'd just dominate that league. The CAA is full plus they'd want them as an All Sports member and Youngstown isn't leaving the Horizon.

They've got enough history that you'd hope they figure it out eventually.

What a bunch of shits you are for calling for this. The MVC will always be a middling conference.YSU would honestly make your metrics better.

They’re talking about the MVFC and YSU’s FB-only membership. YSU’s been down lately but they have a lot of tradition and play in a recruiting-rich area. They’re just far from everyone.

As for BB, YSU isn’t in a geographical area where they’d be a candidate. But if they were, their 10-year KenPom ranks 269th which would rank 12th in the MVC. Their MBB budget ranks 279th, which is lowest in the Horizon. They’ve been decent the past 4 years and would’ve improved the MVC’s metrics this year, but expansion decisions are long-term.

Youngstown State just went to the National Championship in 2016. Even with 3 bad years since then I like having them in the MVFC.

If Missouri State does leave I wouldnt be surprised if the MVC gave Kansas City another look.

I saw that, as well as listened to the Kansas City "State of the University" address by its Chancellor. Very inspiring. It's as if they're trying to make good on a promise given to the Expansion Committee during the last vetting process.

Too late for that. They said that they wouldn't or couldn't make the commitment.

Youngstown State football may not be what it once was, and will probably never be again, but they’re worth having for football. They are in a high talent area, but unfortunately that pool is drying up for a variety of reasons. The biggest one? Youngstown area population has been shrinking for decades. Football still matter there however.

Youngstown proper has dropped from a peak of 170K to a current population around 60K. My first thought was it was probably like many midwestern cities where the city drops but the metro grows somewhat. Not here, the MSA has dropped by 120K since 1980.
