Another Expansion/Realignment Thread

Potentially unpopular opinion:

The Valley already has too many members or, at the very least, the wrong membership mix.

Adding more to this group isn't a viable option. I'd listen to a proposal to reshuffle, but that won't happen.

I don't think anybody would be heartbroken if Evansville and Valpo decided the Horizon was a better place for them...

I agree on letting UE leave the conference with there top 2 to 3 in attendance every year .

From what I’ve read here, and how important Markets are for enrollment; wouldn’t the Horizon be an upgrade for UE and Valpo?
All the Horizon schools are in better markets than Cedar Falls…

Neither UE nor the MVC would be better off with UE moving to the Horizon League in my opinion. SIU, ISU-B, and Murray State are 3 big rivalries for UE. UE has great basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer facilities. The current administration is moving forward with improving both the facilities and the teams that represent the university.
The only plus side of that move would be the basketball teams never having to play in Iowa again in January and February.

Agreed; but according to what I’ve read in this thread about what schools want in a new member, I’m reconsidering the ideal spot.
Certainly: Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cincinnati,
Indianapolis and Dayton are better markets than Terre Haute and Cedar Falls, correct?
