Racers looked great tonight with 85-73 Win! Shot 56.6% from field! Last 2 games look like a completely rebuilt team! Hopefully they can keep up this momentum! Go Racers!

Drake beats Illinois State 88-71, and it was nowhere near that close. Bulldogs led by 30+ in the second half.

Atin Wright with 21 first half points. DeVries finished with 22. Lots of offensive weapons for Drake.

Drake continues to look really solid . Am beginning to re-evaluate SIU and see them as a real contender if they can win some on the road. They are pesky defensively , the recent additions of Ferguson and Hensley along with Ebube give them solid frontline depth and some guys who can do things . Their top players all shoot the ft really well, they know their offensive identity with a go to guy in X. Biggest issue will be if they can hit open treys enough to keep teams from running junk at X.

Belmont has some ridiculously talented guys in their soph class , but was surprised at how many bad shots and "me ball" they had last nite. Dia is a unique player, but can be a black hole with the ball as well. They'll be a tough game, but might be a year away . Their coach got ran by an over reactive official last nite who gave him 2 technicals and booted him in about 20 seconds . He got the "ts" arguing a travel call on Dia, but I think was mostly jawing about the amount of contact and hacking not called on the SIU defense. Hard to tell on tv, but lot of hands on either balls or arms underneath on that end. SIU looking more like old SIU teams with the amount of physical play, and hey, you do it till they call it. Might be different on the road though.

Kind of a ridiculous ejection.

Nice win for SIU though. Scottie Ebube came up big in the 2nd half

Bucky Dent reports that was the same ref that gave the ridiculous Tech to D’Amico during the Oklahoma State game. This dude has one thing on his mind during games… handing out T’s. Get this punk out of the league.

I think Indiana State and Drake are the top two teams but would be thrilled if SIU could play its way into the top-four mix. That'll be tough (especially worried about Missouri State, UNI, Bradley and, to a lesser extent, Belmont and Evansville, competing for those spots, but that it's even semi-realistic for Southern after being picked ninth is something to feel good about. Two winnable road games at Illinois State and Valpo coming up. IF they can win those (won't be easy, especially in Normal) to get to 4-1 in the MVC, sets up what should be a huge crowd in Carbondale for a weekend tilt with Drake.

I would like to hear what he said. It would have to be pretty severe to warrant kicking him out that fast. I have a hard time believing nay coach could say something that bad that quick. Ref looks like a frustrated cop.

That needs to happen like yesterday. The call in the Oklahoma State game was atrocious.

Antinio Petty.

Dude was doing regional finals three years ago and now he's captain quick trigger.

Hate to see it.

Based upon what I saw in the X feed, the second technical came 2 seconds after the first. Wow.

HIckman puts up 28 as Bradley defeats Valpo by 25.

Kent puts up a solid 18/8 as ISU outraces Evansville by 14.

UNI blitzed MSU for a 13-point lead but some tactical substitutions by Dana Ford, including a hockey line change, have navigated the Bears back within 1.
