The running out the clock and playing not to lose was bad enough but SIU giving up 46 points in a half is probably the worst part

Date -- (Deficit), Winning Team, Score
1/27/77 -- (28 pts at Bradley) New Mexico State, 117-109
3/6/05 -- (23 vs Southern Illinois), Missouri State, 65-61
1/27/01 -- (23 vs Bradley), Evansville, 70-67 (ot)
11/25/07 – (22 at Winthrop), Missouri St., 73-69
11/27/89 -- (21 to Butler), Illinois State, 67-59 (ot)
2/19/08 -- (21 to Wichita State), Indiana State, 83-73 (ot)
1/23/19 -- (21 to UNI), Southern Illinois, 70-62

I don't see any mention of 1st or 2nd half. Either way, this was an insane game.

The craziest thing about that Bradley-NSMU game was that, not only was it a 28 point deficit, but it was 28-0. Bradley scored the first 28 points of the game. At home. And lost.

How far back does that list of comebacks go?

Because another crazy one is missing. I didn't think anything of it initially because it wasn't a conference game. And then I saw the Winthrop game on there:

1957 NIT, Bradley trailed Xavier 38-16 (22 points) about 10 minutes in and won 116-81, at one point scoring 95 points in 27 minutes.

Yep. This was also the beginning of the end of the Joe Stowell era.

Interestingly, 3 of the 7 largest comebacks in MVC history are from Barry.

Not MVC, but Murray infamously lost a game to Eastern Illinois in February 2020 after the Racers were up 27 with 11:30 to go. It was the seventh biggest comeback in college basketball history. https://www.si.com/college/2020/02/21/e ... zer-beater

I am also sure if Barry was still running SIU tonight, he wouldn't have started running out the clock that early. Can't wait to watch the 2nd half when I have a little time. Congrats to the Braves on a great comeback. Fun team to watch.
