Illinois state reaching 160 would be nice to make that a Q3 loss. SIU reaching 100 would be good for Indiana State facing a Q2 team instead of a Q3 (assuming SIU makes it to Saturday). And Indiana State reaching 30 would be nice as it gives Drake another Q1 win.

Still some things that could help the conference going into this final few games.

I think if drake wins out until finals and isub wins out til finals, we have a good shot. No garuntees but a shot. Committee has said not all q3 or q4 losses are the same. Isur isn't some sub 300 loss, that's just a fact, in terms of q4 losses isur is a forgivable L. Weirdly, looking at resumes I think drake being our at large guys bodes better. However, overall, I believe the sycs are more deserving. And having said all that, all committee jargin aside if it's drake vs isub on sunday, send em both 19-14 big boys be damned.

Btw, Lunardi during today's Bradley/Drake contest said both Indiana State and Drake have compelling cases and he personally thinks both are good enough to be at-large teams. He said it's just a matter of the results around them and whether that 1-week gap between Arch Madness and Selection Sunday hurts them.

This is actually consistent with how he's been towards the Valley in past years. That random outburst he had a month ago was clearly not what he actually thinks -- I don't know what that was about.

Certainly a flip from his comments during the INST-BU game a few weeks back where he said the Trees would need to win every game by 40 and lose a close on in the championship to have a shot at an at-large.

I still maintain that what is going to kill the tree's chances is a loss at home to a bad ILST, at the time.

I feel like the week-long gap has helped more than it's hurt MVC at-large chances over the years.

Lunardi has New Mexico one of last four in. New Mexico lost at home to Air Force NET 269 (almost 100 behind Illinois State).

Wake Forest lost at home to GaTech. It's so disappointing to have these middling P5 teams getting bids over really outstanding teams from mid-major leagues.

What gets me, is that in the past, the committee has considered injuries for some of the P5 schools losses.

If they considered Kent's injuries during the Tree's back to back losses then Indiana St. is in easily. I guess we will see how Arch shakes out. Bradley could easily make a run to the title game and render this all moot.

Avila was out the very first game against Alabama too. Really what gets me is that if ISU had scheduled a couple patsies at home instead of going on the road to Alabama and Michigan State they'd likely be 28-3, in the top 25, and safely in right now.

With that said if ISU (or even more so Drake) doesn't win the tournament, then I doubt they make it. Sucks, but that's the way it is these days. ISU's best chance at getting an at-large, as crazy as this sounds, would be to lose in a very close game to Bradley on Sunday. Bradley is ISU's only Q1 win and it would give the Sycamores a Q1 win over a NCAA Tournament team.

If we'd done that we'd have a NET that's probably in the high 40s and the same amount of Q1 wins. Not sure that would really help our case.
