From what I've seen, this extends to basketball and is backdated. Although it is one case for one player, there are hundreds of suits over this issue coming in. Lots of guys get more years if this goes through.

Going to be a crazy Valley next year with Shan’Quan Hemphill, Phil Fayne, & Malevy Leons (Caterpillar will outbid OKC in NIL) all returning.

This sucks. We don't need 25 year olds in college athletics.

To clarify. The current suit is just for Diego Pavia to return to Vanderbilt. One ruling, for one situation. However, this case was enjoined with the current antitrust suits against the NCAA and was granted a preliminary injunction. There is also rumor that a similar suit will be brought against the NAIA to allow NAIA recruits to retain eligibility. The following is a video explanation of the current situation. In response, the NCAA is now looking to congress for an Antitrust Exemption to keep the state of play

The NCAA will fight this -spend millions of dollars - and end up losing in the end. Like always.

I'm surprised Drake didn't think of this rule a few years ago.

Why would anyone go D2 out of high school? Go Juco or NAIA and develop then decide D1 or D2.

The Pavia case us being fought by the NCAA. However the NCAA has granted a waiver for all "Non-NCAA athletes who would otherwise use their final year in 2024-25 to remain eligible for the 25-26 season. In Valpos case. This would mean Tyler Schmidt, as well as Isaiah Stafford retain 1 extra year of eligibility in the most likely case
