I'm not wrong at all. You haven't made a legitimate point yet. It is pathetic. Are you drunk or something as you can't carry on an adult conversation. You can't even keep up or remember 2 posts ago.

You are telling on yourself

I’ve submitted more line up cards, called TO’s and made substitutions than you’ve watched games. Coaching is an inexact science. Rags clearly made the right call for his team long term. Why you are so up in arms about it I have no idea.

Rags made the wrong call with Haffner and the Indiana State game. Very wrong call. You are the one who appears oddly up in arms about me griping about it. What is your problem? You can't handle legitimate criticism of Ragland? That's weak.

Fans should always get joy out of their team winning, which the Aces are doing right now. I don’t understand the Aces fan here or some of the Murray fans who seem to get more joy out of bashing their coach/team than out of their team winning. Sports are supposed to be fun, especially college.

Are you trying to claim that Aces fans do not bash their own players and their coaches? Really?

And why don't you show me where the "bash" is in my words? If you can read, you will see I'm bashing the coaches decision against Indiana State. To you, does that equate to me bashing the program, every player, the coaches, and all things UE?

We get it. You lost money on the game.

Apparently Aces Aces was neither at the game nor watched it. Haffner tried retrieving a loose ball at half court to start a fast break, lost his legs, slid across the floor losing the ball, and eventually a foul was committed by a teammate diving into a scrum for the loose ball. Haffner was very upset with himself for not controlling the ball and reacted by pounding the floor. He came out of the game with no interaction with Coach Ragland and sat on the bench.

Any one who has seen Ragland coach knows he is very mild mannered. He will sometimes coach up a player as they come to the bench, but usually gives a fist bump and a congrats.

Nothing there there.

Actually there was an interaction between the player and the coach. It was heated. You didn't see it? Maybe you were watching the play on the court and not the bench. You actually think Haffner sat out 3/4 of the 2nd half because he was mad at himself for not being able to secure that loose ball? LOL.

I live in reality. The player was wrong for talking back to the coach. The coach was wrong for benching the player for the last 3/4 of the second half as the team is thin at the guard position right now and it possible cost the team what would have been a great MVC home victory against a team the Aces have only beaten once in the last several years. I see the bigger picture. You don't. You only see what you think makes you feel good about it.

Ya know, if the Aces had made free throws and lay ups all game against Indiana State, they win going away. Haffner sitting did not have the effect you want to make out. If we make free throws and lay ups, we are up big with a couple of minutes to go. And a lot of that happened in the first half when Haffner was in the game.

i certainly wasn't happy with the decision after the game on Saturday. As time passed, and especially after seeing how Hafner and the rest of the team responded against Illinois State, i realized it was just one of many decisions Ragland is going to make during this season. Decisions that Rags and Rags alone will be accountable for at the end of the season.

Another consideration, if Hafner was as upset as some have said, there is a real possibility that he wouldn't have had a great game. Maybe miss some free-throws, careless passes because his head wasn't in the right spot, flagrant foul, etc

Whether you agree with it or not, if you are going to bash him for costing that game, I think it is only fair for you to credit him or someone on the staff for the turnaround they have exhibited since the Ball State debacle. A lot of teams would have folded up tents for the year. Somehow, this staff has got this team refocused and playing the best defense in the league. Sure, 4-1 would be nice, but we couldn't even have fathomed during the Ball State game that we would be 3-2 in the league, with all 3 wins being by double digits and both losses going to the final minute. Who knows how the season will finish, but to be this torqued and fretting that benching Hafner has ruined recruiting is silly at this point. I get the frustration, I have been here as long if not longer than you probably...but relax.

The most impressive thing about this thread is it has brought COUTEAU out of his multi-year sabbatical.

It occurs to me that AcesAces has staked out an opinion and rather than concede it could be wrong, he/she/it doubles down on it. Honestly, in the end -- what's the difference? Ragland had players on the court who are being coached to play well enough to win. If you make an argument and don't persuade anybody after 4 or 5 pages on a sports blog, maybe try something different.
