Supposedly there’s no interest among the ADs to expand. And Jackson stated last year he likes 11 and that the league doesn’t have to expand unless it helps with a 2nd bid.

Nobody has the votes per several sources and Jackson's preference is to stay at 11.

Can't imagine that changes in the near term.

Big West will be voting on adding Cal Baptist and Utah Valley from the WAC. If successful, that leaves just 5 in the WAC:

I’m fine at eleven. Not sure bringing in a team with a 219 NET is better than staying where we are and going back to playing a round robin schedule. Last place regular season finisher does not qualify for MVC Tournament. Or to help improve scheduling maybe have the team with worst NET ranking on Monday following last game of regular season not eligible for tournament
Football could go to nine regular season games playing all teams in conference and three non-conference games.

The WAC doesnt even classify as a conference anymore under NCAA regulations. Its either the WAC adds to get to 8 or dissolves completely. I dont think the MVC wants any of them.

My vote is stay at 11 and go back to 18 league games. Everybody qualifies for the league tournament.

I don't believe anyone will actually ask me though.

I would want to stay at 11, but continue 20 league games.

Only reason to expand now is if you could add a team that is truly a difference maker, and I don't see that team out there.

In the OVC, I really enjoyed our tournament format, although most here will balk at this.

Only the Top 8 teams are in the tournament, which makes the regular season have more meaning and limits the outside chance a bottom-feeder gets hot and advances to the NCAA Tournament. Seed 5 plays 8, 6 plays 7, and the Top 4 get a bye to the semi-finals. Top 4 seeds rewarded by only having to play two games to get to the NCAA Tournament. I thought it was a great format. Basically an expanded version of the 10-team tournament - but you have 6 teams "play in" instead of 4:

1 vs. 8/9
4 vs. 5
2 vs. 7/10
3 vs. 6/11
