Bumping football attendance by 9,000 to 18,000 doesn't cut the mustard. Ball State of the MAC isn't meeting the 25,000 MINIMUM AVERAGE necessary to remain Div. 1 in FBS and are at risk of being kicked out of the MAC. Granted, Springfield has a much larger population to draw from, but………………...

The "minimum" attendance for FBS is 15,000, not 25K. And it is very loosely regulated.

I think 15,000 is the avg. that needs to be upheld (which is actually not enforced very strictly). Does Duke even avg. that many football fans? Ball St. is fine. It's Eastern Michigan that needs to be careful (at least that is according to MAC fans on their forum).

Several teams below that, the biggest problem is the conference required ones. That is what will get good old Testicle Tech (ball state) bounced from the MAC...I do not believe you will see BAll state competitive in football in the MAC for a while.

For the record, I'm not for or against MSU leaving. And I really don't know if there is anything to substantiate the rumors other than message posters from MSU reading other poster's "inside" information and adding little tidbits here and there, only to have another poster read their "inside" information and expand on it once again.

I've read a lot about it today and the only people talking anythingregarding MSU moving seem to be message board posters. That said, assuming the rumors are true, I wish MSU much luck. I also believe that the Valley has the opportunity to become stronger, as it would force the Valley to look for a replacement or a change in course. Currently, there are two schools that the Valley can't afford to lose and neither of them are located In Missouri.

As I said, best of luck to MSU, I just find it an odd fit with little to no benefit for C-USA. I must be missing something. Maybe Memphis is gone and C-USA is dead.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!
