If you really believe this, it either proves you are 1. Not old enough to vote or 2. Have very little life experience outside your comfort zone.

Yes I do believe it. Have seen it many many many times. Leopards rarely[b] change their spots. Take off the rose-colored glasses. Maybe he can move into your basement if he does land in Wichita?

If the coaches tried to bring him in they made a serious judgement error I don't care how damned good he might be. Once a felon, always a felon! Too many bleading heart liberals out there! I worked where felons were kept for several years and the rate of repeat offenders far exceeds those that are able to stay out of prison. When other players his age were playing basketball he was committing a crime/crimes. He needs to get on with his life and realize that college basketball is no longer a part of it. He lost that about four years ago. It will be very interesting if he is able to land a gig playing basketball anywhere. Why didn't he go to "free college" and get his degree while he was incarcerated; maybe he just wanted to "hang out", do his time and not be rehabilitated?

Very sad that people think this way...

No rose-colored glasses here. That, and my comment wasn't in relation to Hubbard or WSU, but your blanket statement. I know several felons who either didn't commit the crime they were prosecuted for, had lapses in judgement or were victims of circumstance.

My personal experience of knowing and socializing with several ex-cons, having family members work as prison guards and having a good friend who has been a psycho-therapist and polygraph examiner for many years in the prison system has taught me that:

1. The innocent do get found guilty.
2. The guilty aren't always horrible people.
3. Some can and do change their ways, many cannot.
4. Prison guards are understandably jaded, poor judges of character and should never, ever work in law enforcement or sit on a jury.
5. You may very well work with a person or two who you would never expect having served time.

The point is, once a felon, NOT always a felon.

RoyalShock................you have your opinion, I have mine. That's what message boards are for. I hate to get caught up discussing the pro's & con's of ex-cons but one Mr. Anthony Hubbard can attend college if he desires but he does not belong on a college basketball team ANYWHERE!

I'm not one to defend Matty, but from the latest it sounds like Hubbard was all set to enroll at WSU, only to be denied by the admissions department. If it was in fact the WSU admissions dept., not Marshall and the administration who kept him out, then I don't think MAtt is completely wrong here. Yes, Hubbard didn't end up at WSU, but he was apparently all ready to go there (and presumably recruited to go there) until admissions gave the thumbs down.

Ultimately, from the stories I've heard about the kid, WSU admissions did the right thing here.

I'm not aware of Hubbard ever claiming he wasn't actually involved with the criminal act for which he was ultimately incarcerated. In fact, when he was considering Nebraska initially, the OWH or Lincoln Journal Star had articles in which he admitted his role.

I disagree; once a felon always a felon. Perhaps not a repeat felon, but he or she still performed at least the one felony.

I don't want to speak for Royal, but I don't think he was specifically referencing Hubbard. He was replying to another poster's blanket statement about ex-cons.

I don't know all the details about Hubbard's past, or what happened at Iowa.....but I though these statements from the victim of the crime were interesting.
