Not really. Without him being just down the street, what are the odds that he would have considered wsu at all?

Thats true, but it also was a negative factor in the final decision. Don't care if you believe that or not.

Well that was a bit... anticlimactic. I think everyone and their dog knew Perry Ellis was going to KU. I still would have loved to have seen a big surprise and him pick Kansas State or Wichita State. In the end, he picked who we thought he'd pick, no surprise, nothing to see here, folks.
And even though he was a Wichita native, most big recruits bypass the local team to go bigtime. In fact, the local school hardly gets a mention. With that, it was truly a great job of recruiting to be able to have Wichita State listed in his final cut. Nothing for Shocker fans to hang their heads about.
