The MVC will exist as long as Creighton and WSU are in the league. The moment either leave and we won't recover. Hearing a lot of chatter about CU being open to another league worries the hell out of me.

I'm fairly confident if WSU and CU left today, the MVC would still exist and replace those teams fairly easily. However, there is no immediate danger of WSU leaving unless they want to go to a lower conference. CU I would be more worried about if this catholic league starts picking up steam.

If CU left, who would replace them? Oral Roberts? UNO? There's no comparable school in this area.

You said the valley would no longer exist, I am merely saying that you can be replaced and the valley will remain a conference.

He said won't recover. Not won't exist.

Although he used the word recover, he was insinuating the idea that the valley would no longer exist by saying beforehand that "The MVC will exist as long as Creighton and WSU are in the league."

by not recovering, meaning no longer existant.

IMHO, nobody is irreplaceable. The Valley lived on after Louisville, Cincinnati and Tulsa left, not to mention New Mexico State and West Texas State who were pretty good during their membership.

Wasn't Memphis also a member of the conference at one time?

And we're not near as good a conference as when we had them on board. I believe that's the point. Losing a school at the top would really hurt this conference as there's pretty much nobody around that could replace them. Therefore, a weaker conference would be left behind. Lose more than one and the conference is a mid-level conference at best.

This my be way more work than anyone (including myself) would want to do. But thought I would ask because there are a lot more knowledgable people on here than I about the Valley. But let's say over the last 50 years (or pick a different #) can anyone list out what school left and who did they replace them with? I just think it would be interesting to see.
