In all fairness, the refs didn't seem to want to blow the whistle, ever. Either way. It did force UNI to abandon the flop early.

If I wasn't a Jays fan, UNI would be my team. They controlled tempo and style last night and probably should have won. UNI reminds me of my church league team, bunch of unathletic looking white guys who can stick a jumper. Not sure any of them would start for Creighton which speaks to BJ's coaching.

Yeah, we are pretty much used to comments like that. I've pretty much resigned to the fact that people will never truly respect UNI, and people will always be convinced that we have no talent.

I respect the hell out of UNI and love Jake. What he gets out of his guys is amazing. You've got as good of young guys as anyone in the league. Need more respect?

Sometimes respect has to start from within. UNI's fans could show some respect for their own coach and team by showing up. Then the feeling might spread to the rest of the MVC and beyond.

I respect UNI basketball. I didn't when they won the league three years ago, but I did two years ago. I respect what they did last year and I respect them this year.

I really don't like their style of play, I don't find it very fun to watch and I consider it borderline cheating, but they play a style of ball that wins games, I respect that. I respected SIU's style of play in the day as well. I didn't like the way they played, but they won. You have to respect that.

No, there will always be something. If attendance improved, the knock on UNI would revert back to coaching salaries, or the D2 crap, athletic budget, or whatever... I don't mind some of the disrespect. UNI has always played with a chip on their shoulder and it has served them well.

Maybe if attendance improved, salaries improved and the budget was larger, UNI wouldn't get the disrespect.

How is UNI's attendance anyway? I don't know anymore than the arena holds a few more than 7,000 butts. 6,000 if they are all fat people from Sioux City. If someone knows how they are doing with attendance, I'd like to know. WIth Iowa sucking, now would be a good time for UNI to expand their basketball fanbase.

No, there would still be the directional, teacher's college, etc. etc. Whatever.

As to the "talent", kind of interesting how several of Creighton's better players were heavily recruited by and had UNI as one of the last schools on their list, in addition to the actual signing of Doug. Artino and Wragge were both down to UNI and Creighton in their last few choices and Gibbs was deciding between UNI and Creighton when he was looking to transfer. Add to that Tuttle, Bohannon, and Buss who were recruited by Creighton pretty hard as well.
