VCU is a good game in name only but their RPI is worse than UNI's.....

UNI isn't getting an at-large so RPI is meaningless right now.

Its a great game for us because A) its on TV, B) VCU is an attractive game, and C) it will be a valuable return game for UNI. We got lucky.

The matchups pretty much suck, but I think some are overreacting a little bit. We only have two teams capable of getting an at-large at this point anyway, and as of right now neither of them "need" another good game to get into the tournament. Both WSU and CU have been listed as single digit seeds the last few weeks.

I know Creighton would love to play St Mary's but how the heck is LBSU going to hurt them?

Beating the RPI 34 team is gonna help your resume. Wichita State is the ONLY team in the MVC Creighton gets to play that has a better RPI then LBSU.

I do agree the best home team is Creighton and the best road team is St Marys so they should play each other BUT it is very reasonable for ESPN to make the undefeated and higher ranked (in the polls) Murray State team the #1 home team.

So you are saying if WSU loses to Davidson, it won't hurt their at-large chances? It probably puts them on the bubble. For Creighton, it would hurt our seeding a couple slots probably. If we beat LBSU? I doubt our seeding would change at all.

BTW, here is LBSU's remaining schedule. Even if they win all these games, their RPI will not stay under 50. I don't even want to know what will happen if they lose one....

02-04 CSU Northridge 4-13 (2-6) 297 83-56 W - Scouting
02-09 at Pacific 5-13 (3-5) 294 74-66 W - Scouting
02-11 at UC Davis 0-19 (0-8) 343 75-63 W - Scouting
02-22 UCSB 9-7 (6-2) 138 80-64 W - Scouting
02-25 UC Riverside 8-11 (4-4) 222 81-60 W - Scouting
02-29 UC Irvine 6-12 (4-4) 252 82-58 W - Scouting
03-03 at CSU Fullerton 11-7 (5-3) 200 72-71 W - Scouting

By the numbers:
Creighton 14 vs. LBSU 34 | -20
WSU 31 vs. Davidson 67 | -36
UNI 57 vs. VCU 84 | -27
MSU 79 vs. ODU 124 | -45
Drake 97 vs. New Mexico St. 90 | +7

24 spots higher on average than our opponents. Drake is the only one who doesn't have an RPI complaint. Absolutely bull. How WSU gets snubbed to play Davidson over ORU or Iona, forget Murray St. is unbelievable.

This better be the absolute last year for the Valley in this event. Watch them build a good slate of teams next year.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.
