Just win the games on the schedule... Everyone's bracket buster game is probably better than their worst non conference game of the season.

True, but now Creighton has to go to LBSU. We still have to go to Loyola Chicago next year. Overall, Bracketbusters has not helped Creighton one bit (granted, we haven't been deserving some of those years). If we didn't play in Bracketbusters at all, I don't think it would have affected Creighton one bit.

Losses early don't hear near as much as losses late. Plus, for better or more likely worse, this event is in the spotlight of the committee. For most of the teams this is the only game of theirs they watch.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

To me the biggest loser in all these matchups is WSU. If they win their BB game it doesn't help them any. But if they lose it? And if they lose a couple more conference games and don't win in StL - it might be bye bye at large bid for WSU.

Which I guess screws the whole MVC because if CU wins StL we are possibly a one bid conference again.

Big brother (KU) lost to them at home. Unless you buy into my conspiracy of trying to eliminate bubble mids.

I do not really think they want to "eliminate" bubble mids I just think they want to get a few good games in the middle of feb. As a result of these games a few teams will be eliminated. It is hard to blame ESPN for trying to make good tv (that is how they make $$$) really the people to blame are the mid major / low major conferences that participate.

I say mid major/low major cause it is crazy to put the MVC in the same category as conferences that spend 30% of what the MVC does on basketball.

I think every UNI poster hear knows we got a pretty good deal, especially compared with the rest of the conference.

What can we say, the burden of being a media darling. :Yea!:

WSU needed a win over Murray State in the worst way to secure their at large bid... What a joke. StMary/CU and WSU/Murray would have been the two best match UPS by far.

I don't know why we had to sacrifice quality for quantity. It's not like any other conference had more to offer for TV games...

We need to get a 8-2 record out of this and try and catch the A10. CU and WSU must win

The Valley gets rewarded as easier the premier conference in this event by getting dropped a bunch of crap games that helps no one.

The smart thing to do would have been for Elgin to opt out of the event and watch ESPN scramble to put 13 watchable games on the tubes without the Valley. But instead, Elgin, in his infinite wisdom, decided to lock up 4 years of this garbage. It think it's time to take Doug out with the trash.

To me, this looks like Elgin was after a great record in the BB rather than great matchups. With multiple bids likely this year, a bad BB for the Valley would be endangering that. Not saying this is good but does make some sense.

Wichita St & CU both need to be looking hard at new conference opportunities.
