NCAA Tournament Expectations

What are the expectations for WSU and CU in the NCAA tournament this year? Everybody has talked about WSU being built for a deep run, and I know it really depends on parings, but are we saying Sweet-Sixteen or bust? What about Creighton?

I'm still going to stick with what I said earlier. I think WSU has the type of team that could get as far as the final 4 depending on the matchups, but I also think CU could run into an up tempo athletic team much like WSU or the Redbirds in the 1st or 2nd rounds and make an exit. If CU gets some favorable matchups they could go deep too.

If CU gets matched up against some half court offense type of teams that heavily rely on their post play I think they would hold an advantage. A really fun matchup for CU would be to see them eventually run into a team like Mizzou. Two really good shooting teams would be high scoring and great to watch.

I would be dissapointed if we didn't make a sweet 16, but it all depends on matchups.

All about match-ups. Gotta wait for the brackets to be out. If WSU and CU end up seeing a couple of other mid-majors in their region, they could be primed for a run. I don't think there are a lot of types of teams that give either one of the problems. Maybe a run-and-gun type of team might pose problems for CU based on their lack of defense but CU can put the ball in the hoop pretty darn well.

WSU and CU could make runs through the bracket that Jerry Palm has set at CBS.

I disagree with wanting to see other mid-majors in the bracket. I would much rather they play a BCS school and catch them sleeping. (See Drake/WKU, 2008)

Exactly. Until we see match-ups it hard to predict anything. A team could get a good seed, but if they selection committee does a terrible job of seeding teams it can make it meaningless.

They do tend to have good post season runs after getting bumped in the Valley semi finals.
