I agree, GE is certainly no more of a thug than O'Rear or Miller were.

Echenique is not a thug. Yes that one play was obviously a foul. It possibly should have even been a flagrant foul. But it's pretty obvious too that Zeller greatly exaggerated the impact. Look at the replay and how he immediately pops up. If he had really gotten hit that hard he wold would have stayed down.

He went down to avoid the full impact. The obvious intent to make contact by Echinique was over the top and thug like. I have watched and rewatched the play and still stand by my first reaction. It is a very poor representation of the MVC and he should be reprimanded by the conference. No foul was called and he could have easily been ejected from the game. Anyone that feels that this type of play is ok and that there was nothing wrong with what 00 did would have a heart attack screaming if it happened to one of your players on your court. If he isn't a thug, he was on that play. Very unsportsman like.

Was it a flagrant 1 or flagrant 2 foul, yes. Is Echenique a thug? Not a chance. He is a 22-year old college student playing 40 extremely physical minutes in front of 20,000 screaming ruthless fans. To pick out 2 seconds and label a college student a thug is reprehensable.

If he isn't a thug he was on that play. I would contend that if he thinks that he should resort to that type of play during any part of any game you have a thug mentality. He thought about what he did before he did it and did it anyway. He should be reprimanded for his action or it sends the message that its ok to play like that and that's a message that basketball fans should hope never gets sent.

Even Roy Williams thinks Greg is a good person who got caught up in the moment. If you don't mind, I will take his opinion over yours.

I'm sure the MVC is waiting with baited breath for the apology from the ACC for the T (unsportsmanlike conduct) committed by the cry baby Tar Heels. For someone from the MVC to fall victim of the whiney N.C.sound machine is just a little suspect.

I don't really care who's opinion you take. It was unsportsmanlike. Period!! I wanted Creighton to win the game. I want the wabash valley schools to excel. I want others to envy our programs. That was nothing to feel proud about. If your child did anything similar and you chose to look the other way, you would be part of the problem.

Read my post above, and earlier. Both times I called it a flagrant foul and even said he should be ejected. I take exception with labeling kids at any time, especially when you pick and choose a 2 second block and ignore everything else. Wragge got death threats last week from NC fans who did the same thing.

I am not ignoring anything else. I am commenting on one play and what the consequence for that play should be. Any person making death threats should be arrested. That typed of behavior is also thug like.

I don't understand what your are looking for from your comments. Yes, it was a flagrant and I'm sure Greg wished he wouldn't have done it; but the fact is he apologized for the play and we've all moved on from it. I know Greg and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, he is genuinely a great person. Calling him a thug for one play is ridiculous. I think you need to lay off the kid.
