Not sure if anyone has posted this yet or not. Jays fans can rejoice. Everyone else can start throwing things.

It's good that it is "official" now but I don't think there were many Jays fans worried too much about him leaving. We pretty much feel that he is here for another 2 years. But you never know, if he continues to improve his all around game next year (which is a scary thought for a lot of MVC teams) he might test the waters next year. He can get better, and I fully expect he will! :Yea!:

The scouting report I saw listed McD as the 71st potential pick in the NBA draft. Stutz was #100. Leaving college for the NBA and not getting drafted is really dumb nd I believe McD is brighter than that. I think he will be at CU all 4 years.

McD's game fits college better than it would work in the NBA. There are a lot of 6'8" guys in the NBA with so much more quickness, leaping, and athleticism, that McD's effectiveness will drop off substantially if (or when)he plays in the NBA.

I'm fully expecting that the Valley will see two more years of McD - and he will be a dominant D1 player - on offense. He's not a strong defender.

I think this is the first for the MVC since Hersey Hawkins in 1988, correct?

Everything that you just said about Dougie can be said about Prince Korver, who has made a pretty decent living in the NBA. While I am not saying Dougie is a Larry Bird, I am saying that players of limited physical ability can make it in the NBA. I think Dougie is a much better player than Prince Korver was in college. I think Dougie could be a much better pro player than Prince Korver.

Prince Korver has a singular talent. Dougie matches that talent and offers up other skills such as playing well in traffic and rebounding. I would not sell Dougie short.

McDermott named Lute Olson National Player of the Year.
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Creighton sophomore Doug McDermott received the Lute Olson National Player of the Year Award at a just-concluded banquet in New Orleans, site of this weekend's Final Four.

The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation’s top Division I player who has played at least two seasons with his respective team. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible. The award, now in its third year, was won by Sherron Collins (Kansas) in 2010 and last season by Kemba Walker (Connecticut), and is presented by collegeinsider.com.
