Yet we are continually told that WSU fans get an unfair bad rap around here.

I blame the Kansas and Kansas State fans being mean to them.

Gregg Marshall actually made a bit more than I was reporting.

It's a great day to be a Shocker!

1 NCAA tourney appearance in 5 years is somewhat unfair. When he took over, Turgeon had left him with pretty much nothing. He's been consistently in the discussion for an NCAA at-large bid for the last three years. The MVC doesn't get multiple bids every year, and so only crediting someone for something that often only goes to a tournament winner is disingenuous.

I'm sure that's something Creighton fans would agree with, considering you've also only had one NCAA appearance in the last 5 years. And what was it, 2009 when you won the conference but didn't get a bid?

Judging any MVC team on NCAA appearances is tough, because it's tough to get an at-large bid if you lose the tournament.

And Coldblooded is hardly liked on the Shocker forums, either.

Why does the number of bids the Valley gets matter? Its not impossible to get an at-large bid from the Valley. This isn't the SWAC.

Not really, McDermott got us to the tourney in 2 years although he came into a much better situation. Tourney appearances is pretty much the means test for coaches these days. 5 years is about the right amount of time to expect results from a turnaround. Marshall has turned it around no doubt but he could well be rebuilding next year....

Next year will be our best recruiting class in like...decades. The Valley hasn't see the likes of what we will be bringing to the table in 2012/2013. We will be kind of young, but we will definitely pass the "Eye Test"...

I don't really take issue with Shocker fans but I get a little tired of the elitist attitude. Having only driven through Wichita I have not seen it first hand and might not understand. My question: if the Shockers are so dominant, than why don't they dominate?

Your Shox almost always pass the "eye test". They almost always pass the "money test". They almost always pass the "atmosphere test". But, as far as the actual games played on the basketball court....

Congrats on your "coaching contract" and "eye test" banners that you probably hang in your arena every year though. ;)

Wichita State 16-2 27-6
Northern Iowa 9-9 20-14

that is pretty good domination, or did you mean perfection?
