Uthoff will visit CU at the end of the month. He's gonna hear back about his appeal in the next few days. I'm assuming Wisconsin will not budge on that, if they don't, I like Creighton's chances...

Is the assumption that Iowa State would be in play of the restrictions were lifted?

Not sure about Iowa State. They are on the restriction list though. I'm sure he'd have some interest in Iowa State if they aren't. My guess is that if the restrictions are kept, it's probably gonna come down to Creighton and UNI.

I'm guessing that Iowa State is his #1 choice. If not, he would have no reason to appeal the restrictions. If he just wanted to go to CU or UNI, he would have no reason to appeal.

I wonder if Bo got wind of ISU maybe "tampering" w/Uthoff. Iowa State is now known as the home of transfers. Why would Bo restrict Uthoff from going to Iowa State otherwise? They don't play Iowa State anytime soon and it's a totally different conference...

Sounds like UNI is out of the question as Jacobson told Uthoff there are no scholies left. Ryan is still pissed as he adds the entire ACC to the restricted list....

There is something incredibly messed up with this system when a coach can leave for greener pastures at the drop of a hat without repercussions, but a player can be completely restricted from doing so by a the same coach.

I agree. Any player should be able to transfer to any school he/she chooses to receive their education.

On the other hand, some companies do have non-compete clauses. I wonder why the NCAA schools don't utilize those restrictions with their coaches?

Kind of the food chain approach. Smaller schools have to avoid putting too many restrictions on coaches who may want to move up, larger schools don't have to worry as much about getting poached, except maybe the NBA. Thus, the buy out clauses escalate the higher up the food chain you go. Smaller schools that put in too high of a buy-out to keep a coach take the chance of being locked in if the coach doesn't pan out (see SIU) or they put too small of a buy-out and watch them get lured away pretty quick.

UNI isn't out of the question.....CU doesn't have any scholarships available either.

Unless Greg uses his money to pay for Uthoff to get a scholarship....which he would be doing by pulling Dougies scholarship.

A legal "pay for play" system....holy piss.
