Jarod Uthoff - possible transfer

A place to discuss tomorrow's MVC stars.

Yeah, I just don't see how this should be legal for them to do. Mac will quite literally be using his own money to pay for a player.

If they are going to do this, it should be some other player that has to give up a scholarship.

UNI fans are the biggest friggin babies. Any parent, basketball coach or otherwise, has the right to pay for their own child's education. There's nothing illegal, immoral, or unethical about it.

Right, but he's not simply just "paying for his kid's education". He's doing it to get another basketball scholarship.

The fact of the matter is, it would be 100% illegal if he weren't his son. He is literally "buying" another scholarship for his basketball team.

What's your point exactly? Doug is his son so he has the RIGHT to pay for his education if he wants to.

UNI isn't out of the question.....CU doesn't have any scholarships available either.

Unless Greg uses his money to pay for Uthoff to get a scholarship....which he would be doing by pulling Dougies scholarship.

A legal "pay for play" system....holy piss.

UNI fans need to stop blaming CU fans for everything. In this case, Jacobson told Uthoff that he has NO SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE for him. Are you blaming CU now because UNI has no scholarships? I like to hear your twist on that one...

You are exactly right. I am simply pointing out that he is doing it for one and only one reason, and that is to get another scholarship for his basketball team.

That's because UNI doesn't have any scholarships. And either does Creighton. Unfortunately, Jake cannot pay for one of his players scholarships in order to add Uthoff.

It doesn't violate a single rule. Not one. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that there is something wrong with it. In fact, your response just sounds like jealous rantings.

Didn't UNI just make some kid pay his own way in order to open up another scholarship?

I don't know what you are studying at UNI, but I'd suggest taking a class or two in thinking outside of the box. Finding creative solutions to problems is something that most businesses look for, not shun.

Did I say it violated a rule? No, I did not.

Do I like it? Hell no I dont, why would I? It all just goes back to Doug again. UNI really got F'd hard in that deal, and it just keeps on happening if they can parlay this into another great player.

Yes UNI did something similar. But Coach Jake did not PAY FOR the new player's scholarship out of his own pocket. Small, but incredibly large detail...

Does Jake have a son on his team? Didn't think so....
