If he wanted a release I'm sure WSU would grant it. Not to the Valley, it's not like WSU basically fired his dad after the head coach left, keep dreaming though.
As far as CU/UNI and the ISU/SIU situation any objective person has to admit they are totally different.
CU/UNI: UNI signs McD because Dad is too scared to sign him at Iowa State. Dad leaves to avoid being fired the following year and then takes his kid. So it's not like UNI fired the dad and the kid left.
ISU/SIU: ISU signs beane because his father works as an assistant there. Head coach leaves and new coach wants his own assistants. So basically Beane is let go, what kind of D move would it be not to let his son out of his release after booting the father?
With all that said nothing illegal took place with the CU/UNI deal, just distasteful. However who wants to be the guy saying a kid can't go play for his father. Just tougher to swallow when the father wasn't wanting the kid just a few months earlier. So I don't have a problem with it but if I was a UNI fan I would be bitter and if I was a CU fan I would be indifferent to it.
