Does anyone actually seeing him re-join ISUr? I can't imagine trying to come back to a program I left high and dry for whatever reason. I would have to think there would be some animosity

I'll be cautious here because of the old saying of never say never but truthfully I do believe never would be accurate. ISU recently signed a 3 star point guard recruit who is coming because the point guard position opened up a spot. Additionally, I think all of the scholarships are taken so he'd have to pay his own way

Internet rumor has him verballing to SMU. That's SMU with their 216 RPI last year and Larry Brown dismissing about half the team. But they will be BCS "soon" - but only because they have a decent FB team and are in Texas.

An MVC coach leaves for an assistant's job at a worse school and takes the teams PG with him. That's low.

Stupid. Stay and compete for an MVC title and NCAA bid or get your head handed to you in the Big East.

If indeed the story is true about Moore going to SMU, then what a bad judgement on his part. He left a loaded ISU team that's got a good shot at dancing, and (with their scheduling really shaping up) they've got a chance to earn their way into the national rankings Looks like new Redbird HC Dan Muller is just what the doctor ordered for the ISU program. He's already signed some impressive recruits and put together a very good schedule.

Moore would be signing on for literally a hoops graveyard at SMU. WOW! :o This should be a lesson learned for any young man to really step back and look at the big picture, and not just listen to "handlers".

SMU has got a real good shot at being the new DePaul of the Big East (mired at the bottom and basically non-relevant to the college hoops landscape).

KEEP IT ROCKIN' MVC!! 8-)

Maybe.....just maybe.....the reason Nic was at ISU was Jank.

Maybe....just maybe.....Nic only felt at home because of Jank.

Maybe.....just maybe....Nic wanted to go somewhere he felt "good with"

Maybe.....just maybe....that means where Jank went.

Maybe.....just maybe....Nic made a decision that was best for him....not for the fans of a conferece/school. Maybe he has a relationship with Jank that he didn't want to let break.

We can sit here and say "ISU is going to be better than SMU", "He totally screwed up", "Blah blah blah blah blah". However, the fact remains Nic made the choice to do what he felt was best/right for him.

Nah, that can't be.....we all know he completely screwed up his ENTIRE LIFE by transfering to SMU. He now has ZERO hope to accomplish anything in his life ever again......

Oh, I don't know. You might ask a certain MVC guard who quit after his junior year a few years ago, bashing everything about his former school in rather colorful language, in particular his head basketball coach, on his facebook page after leaving. And then, tucked his tail between his legs and come crawling back to that head coach when no other program wanted him. He was allowed back on the team by a then desparate head coach - putting together the final piece to a disasterous season that ended with the coach's departure to Oregon.

It can be done, but IMO nothing can really repair the damage to the chemistry of the team that would be caused by him leaving in the first place. Of course, if you have a P'Allen on your team to go with him, that doesn't help either

BirdmanBB wrote:Sure they can. His release is conditional. Schools do it all the time. They grant releases only to certain schools or conferences. Most schools just say you cannot transfer within the conference because of direct competition. We have a 2 year rule in the MVC to help prevent this as well.

Nic also asked for his release before even meeting Dan Muller. He wanted it regardless of the new coaching hire. So, why should ISU grant a release to another mid major school when he is already at a perfectly good one and won't give the new coach the time of day. (you're right...it is a two way street).

Nic specifically said that he knew he wanted to play at a BCS school.....so....ISU only grants his release to BCS schools. Seems fair enough to me.

So I ask you again now that it has happen, what is ISU going to do about Nic Moore going to SMU?

So basically, Jank left and is going to take Moore with him? On top of that, during his last few weeks on the job at ISU, he was recruting for SMU on ISU's dime? Excellent character traits, sir.

Good riddance. Glad you left and took your pathetic scheduling with you.
