I don't mean to imply that I thought the tie was a good call. I thought it was an obvious foul, but since it was called a tie with no hesitation, it brings up a question:

I know the hand is considered part of the ball when a player is controlling the ball. If a player has the ball wrapped up in both arms and the arms are in contact with the ball, do the arms become considered "part of the ball"?

It was mentioned on the Bears Forum how good UNI is at getting even the best teams and coaches to play their (UNI's) style. It's pretty amazing really. It's a tribute to Jake's ability as a coach.

This. Rick Pitino was none too happy with the fact that UNI was dictating the pace and style of play last night. Unfortunately, the Cardinals were too athletic and talented to let it affect them to the degree it affects others. The length of Gorgui Dieng and his ability to not only rebound but influence play in the paint was impressive. I think he was their most influential player despite only scoring 6 points. I wasn't impressed by Behanan and Siva but I'll chalk that up to great Panther D

Rick Pitino giving MVC major props last night after the UNI game. He talked about how the MVC is the most underrated conference in the country and specifically mentioned how good he thinks Wichita State, CU, and Il St are.

Another ugly half of basketball yet UNI has continued to keep it close and hit shots when they need to. Stanford getting most of its scoring from 2 bench players but the Panthers have given up too many open looks on defense.

terrible game by UNI, one of the worst I've seen them play in a long time. They are just throwing away this opportunity.
