There's a new #1 in my weekly MVC Power Rankings, but otherwise not much change.

1) Wichita State - Gregg Marshall has reloaded and the Shockers have avoided early season struggles that often nip teams trying to acclimate multiple new players to their system. Cleanthony Early has lived up to the billing and is playing an an All-MVC level .

Way too harsh. In fact, it is a cheap shot.
No doubt that WSU is farther along then almost anyone thought or expected.
There is some question though as to how good WSu's opponents have been. VCU is the only team that is getting poll votes and all of the opponents have at least two losses. With the exception of perhaps So. Miss, there isn't a lot of meat on the noncon bone left either. I know that Iowa and Depaul are BCS schools, but they are bad schools (in the case of Depaul, a really bad BCS school). Tennessee doesn't appear to be anything special either - and was a participant in one of the ugliest NCAA games in recent memory a few days ago.
Hopefully, WSU wins out to keep the critics muffled.
