WSU hasn't had their stumble yet, but it's almost certain they have one coming. I'm not going to consider a roadie loss to Tennessee a stumble. I'm confident WSU will reserve their stumble for a total head-scratcher loss in league play (not to CU, IlSU, or UNI).

It isn't that a team can't have a stumble game; it is that IlSU needs a marquee noncon win and Wyoming may have been the last chance. On top of that, IlSU had a near 20 pt lead in the second half that they let fade away. It wasn't like they came out flat from the start and just never got it going; they were dominating the game into the second half.

Hate to say it, but looking at the rest of The Redbirds non-con schedule, they blew ANY kind of chance to make a statement by that lopsided (14 points) loss to Wyoming (at home no less). My god, a 33 point turnaround in the second half. That should put a nail in the coffin for ISU-R's at-large chances, and in turn the MVC's chances of 3 Valley teams in the tourney.

Guess there still might be 3 Valley teams playing, if WSU and CU hold court over the rest of the MVC and some other team gets lighting in a bottle and wins Arch Madness.

Pretty disappointing for Valley fans to see results like ISU-R choking away any legit chance at an at-large. Still MVC teams would be good (and there's always a chance for 3 with an Arch Madness suprise winner).

It's still amazing to me just how many blown opportunities the Valley has had so far... :(

I went to bed at halftime and couldn't believe how ISUR blew this game. At-large chances for ISUR are pretty much over IMO. Losing to Northwestern sucked and I think this sealed the deal.

The Red Birds were out scored by 18-1 in the last five minutes of the game.

Never seen a team fold like the Redbirds did the other night. Not at any level.

It's taken a lot of wind out of our sails so to speak.

This is the first time I've checked the board since the awful loss to Wyoming. All I can say to anyone counting on us is - sorry.

IMO its the coaching change more than anything. Its pretty rare a new coach takes over without some problems in the 1st couple of years.

Just horrible timing that Jank left when Ill state has their best team in years.

It has nothing to do with timing. How much was Jank getting paid?

Jank had his best teams the first two years he was at ISU. Not poor timing by Jank, poor scheduling and poor coaching.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

In 07 and 08? That's pretty subjective but if you say so.

Regardless I still they would have won several of these games they lost OOC with Janks at the helm.
