35 - 28 Shox at the under 16 timeout. Came out with more energy and Early on fire.

Much better effort. CS shot their wad in the first half. Shox should control the rest of the way.

Shox win 65 - 53. Showed better energy the second half and didn't settle for the 3. Early had 20 and I believe 10 rebounds. CJ Lufile had 10 rebounds. Not bad for the "second team" in their first game as a group.

Shox out-rebounded CSU something like 29-9 in the second half.

20 points and 10 boards for Early. 8 points (all second half) and 12 boards for Lufile (3rd option at Center). 11 points in 16 minutes for Wiggins (2 of 4 from 3).

Lots of guys learning new roles.

All things considered, especially after a dismal first half, we'll take it. Shox are capable of winning without their 3 injured, but they're going to need play twice as hard and particularly need to learn how to run a zone offense.

For nothing else, the next few weeks' games will be a lot more intriguing and exciting (if you can call it that).

WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

I know one element of a zone offense. The Shocks need a zone buster and they only have one - Nick Wiggins.

By the way, the box score says Nick was 2-4 from 3. One shot does not count. Someone made an ill advised cross court pass to Nick in the corner. Nick was well covered and the clock was running down. Nick just chucked one up to beat the clock and hopefully score a prayer basket. It clanked.
