Whats the latest Bluejay fans? When they going to get this thing done? While I'm a fan of the Valley sticking to 9 teams if CU leaves I have no doubt they will go back to 10. For my entertainment please get this over with so we can sit around and discuss the virtues or lack thereof of potential replacements.

C7 is supposedly meeting again on Saturday. Hopefully we will soon hear something afterwards.

I suspect the new conference will look closely at BJ's books. When they do so they will realize that the credit cards are maxed and there is little equity hiding anywhere. Perhaps the conference will offer a line of credit to help get the BJ's started until the conference checks start rolling in? Perhaps the Pope could sell a couple of his rings or mitre hats to finance the deal?

Discuss..

It will happen or it won't for CU but I agree...this needs to resolve one way or another soon.

Most likely won't, IMO.

Creighton is out at 10 teams, in at 12. They don't have five better candidates.

Ha...you have no idea if they are in or out at 10. So please don't act like you do. Everything that has been reported says they are right there for the 10th spot.

BTW....how's that campaign going to get Wichiturd in with the big boys?

I don't know if Fox wants 10 or 12. However, if they want 12, it will be 12.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

At the 10th spot, Creighton is competing with Dayton, Saint Louis, and VCU. So the odds of getting in are probably in the 25% range (excluding the fact that each of those programs has advantages that could them to the top). At 12, it is highly likely that the Jays get in. That is just basic probability, and doesn't require any special inside knowledge (though that is picture that has been painted by a fair number of sources).

And in case you are really wondering, the campaign to get consideration for Wichita State is working to the extent that I hoped it would. Which is to say, I've convinced a few people to accept that Wichita State will be a viable candidate if they have continued success over the next few years (something I think is probable).

Also, I wouldn't consider Creighton one of the "big boys." In the last 10 years, you have as many NCAA wins as Wichita State does and you haven't been to the Sweet 16 in nearly 40 years. Though the C7 conference will be better than the MVC, it doesn't mean that any team in that conference will be better than any given team from the MVC. In fact, both Wichita State and Creighton have better RPIs than any of the Catholic schools.

You have every right to celebrate if you upgrade conferences, but don't forget that DePaul was significantly better than Creighton is now when they joined the Big East. You still have to play the games before you can take credit for the wins.
