This isn't part of the grand 'Anti-Wichita State Conspiracy'...
Here is the list of teams that lost last week:
Top 25 (AP voters) and other Key Losses during this week (01/07/13 thru 01/13/13):
#01 - Duke lost at #20 - North Carolina State
#02 - Michigan lost at #15 - Ohio State
#04 - Arizona lost at Oregon
#08 - Minnesota lost at #5 - Indiana
#10 - Missiouri lost at Mississippi
#12 - Illinois lost at home to #8 - Minnesota and lost at Wisconsin
#17 - Notre Dame lost at home to Connecticut
#19 - Georgetown lost at home to Pittsburgh
#21 - Cincinnati lost at home to #17 - Notre Dame
#23 - WICHITA STATE SHOCKERS @ EVANSVILLE
#24 - UNLV lost at #25 - New Mexico
These teams are either “Not Rated (NR)”, are stealing seed votes from us, or have potential to do so:
#27 - Wyoming lost at home to Boise State
#28 - Oklahoma State lost at Oklahoma
#31 - Maryland lost at home to Florida State and at Miami
#32 - Kentucky lost at home to Texas A&M
#33 - Temple lost at Xavier
#35 - North Carolina lost at Miami
#36 - Pittsburgh lost at home to Marquette
Again, most of those teams fell a couple of spots. Some fell more than others, but NO ONE farther than Wichita State did. Why? The MVC.
Also, don't forget that being a small fish in a power conference is not necessarily a demotion. The Big East has proven several times that a team in a good conference doesn't have to worry about a couple of bad losses ruining a season or getting left out with a RPI in the 30-40 range.
