I think it was more taking the layup with 30 seconds on the shot clock instead of pulling the ball out and winding a little time down. It isn't a huge deal, but just screamed to me I need more stats to get POY.
BTW I am never a fan of being down 10 with 30 seconds in the game and taking timeouts.

The thing that would scare the daylights out of me as a CU fan is if you get into the tournament, GE gets into foul trouble early and you have a night where you only shoot 30% from three. That is the recipe for getting beat by an inferior team. Doug is phenomenal, a great player, but gets so much of his by playing off other guys that it only takes an off night by two guys to make you guys incredibly vulnerable.
That said, if you play like you did last night, the sky might just be the limit for you.

I think that for any team playing another good team, an off night by two of its best players makes that team incredibly vulnerable.BCPanther wrote:That said, if you play like you did last night, the sky might just be the limit for you.
I'm not sure Creighton played all that well last night. For example, we went the entire second half without making a single three pointer. Not one. Further, Echenique was in foul trouble all night and played one of his worst games. Yet we still pulled away.
Against INS,we went on our big run when Doug was on the bench.
I realize that Doug has a tendency to overshadow all of his teammates because he can put up some absolutely stupid numbers, but I think everybody continually underestimates the rest of the talent on the team.
