"Superior" is not a term of degree or distance, it is a term of comparison. Whether one team scores 1 point more or 1,000 points more, they are "superior."
You got it wrong. It was pointed out to you. And then you got it wrong again. In fact, in degree of error, your second attempt was superior to your first.
