Humm.... If Doug Elgin is concerned with quality officiating, why is Gerry Pollard still doing league games?

It doesn't look like Curry or Crisman have called a game in the Valley since the UNI-Indiana State game....

Wouldn't surprise me if Curry got the same discipline as Randall...

I was thinking the quotes from Elgin's letter sounded all too applicable.

Wow big dawg, overreact much?

No one was complaining about anything. It was a look at what Elgin does behind the scenes in those rare situations. Then you flew off the handle like a madman, with now you doing all of the complaining.

I remember your days at ValleyTalk. You and your fanbase didn't walk on water either.

Conference Commishs should have term limits just like politicians. I do think he is an honorable man but subconsciously he is human. He is going to make choices that help the league, and more importantly, his pocketbook too. I can think of a gazillion other instances that are worse than this one and Elgin made no public mention of poor officiating. Guaranteed, the other refs do not like that. That kind of stuff will turn the good refs away from wanting to call Valley games.

Right. They are going to close off a source of income. They are going to choose to do a Summit League game at $500 less than we pay.

Good refs are going to respect that there is accountability. Nothing makes a good official more angry than poor officials making all officials look bad.

C'mon guys.

No one, repeat, NO ONE whines in this conference as much as Shockers fans. They take after their coach obviously. Instead of giving credit to a young undermanned SIU team for not quitting when down 17 points to your NBA lottery picks and amazing head coach, you say you shouldn't have lost. Well guess what? YOU LOST! We'll all be happy if you ever get the chance to take your delusions of grandeur to another league so we don't have to listen to your crybaby bs all the time.

I find it reprehensible that you so categorize Shockers fans. I very seldom post but took offense to yours. Were the shoe on the other foot I think you would have been upset as well. While I applaud the fiestiness of SIU, your team was also the beneficiary of a very bad and needless call--we were not. Despite your post, I will refrain from judging Saluki fans similarly to how you have judged ours.
