This right here, absolutely.

Considering it was reported that the other officials got into a shouting match with Randall after the game, I doubt it.

No one, repeat, NO ONE whines in this conference as much as Shockers fans. They take after their coach obviously. Instead of giving credit to a young undermanned SIU team for not quitting when down 17 points to your NBA lottery picks and amazing head coach, you say you shouldn't have lost. Well guess what? YOU LOST! We'll all be happy if you ever get the chance to take your delusions of grandeur to another league so we don't have to listen to your crybaby bs all the time.

I find it reprehensible that you so categorize Shockers fans. I very seldom post but took offense to yours. Were the shoe on the other foot I think you would have been upset as well. While I applaud the fiestiness of SIU, your team was also the beneficiary of a very bad and needless call--we were not. Despite your post, I will refrain from judging Saluki fans similarly to how you have judged ours.

Yes, it's not like you got the benefit of a shot clock violation or anything. I also think that had the Shocks been in SIU's spot, taking that last shot and it got swatted away that you guys would've been upset had it not been called goaltending.

Marshall's whining to Elgin and the MVC finally paid off last night. Refs gave him a game that was lost and it's going to give them an MVC title. Better put an asterisk next to this one in the record book.

I sure hope that the MVC office reprimands the officials who took the game away from the players last night and decided it themselves. Wasn't that the point they were trying to make to the official at the end of the SIU-WSU game?

Every coach sends stuff in every week. Just not every call will determine that outcome of games. We've had our share of being screwed on game determining calls the worst may be was the long, long, long 2 seconds in the MVC tourney several years ago. It's about time it goes our way (even though the call was right in this case).

You whine like WSU fans are always accused of. Your team ended up a lot better off since the whistle wasn't called right away. As Jackie Chan was coming down, IlSU was up by 5 and was going to get the ball. After the free throws were down, IlSU was up by 5 and WSU had the ball. If IlSU doesn't get a case of the butterfingers, they win the game. The call changed momentum of the game, but IlSU was still in a really good position to win the game thanks to the nonwhistle. Even if you can somehow come up with a plausible reason for Jackie Chan's foot to be up in Cotton's chest, it is a HUGE stretch to say that the refs GAVE the game to IlSU.

It is being reported that the MVC has disciplined the referees from the WSU-ISU game last night for the error in FT shooters following the Carmichael foul.

@Pg_Benson: MVC disciplines three officials for giving FTs to wrong Wichita player with 40 sec left Sunday. Discipline to be handled "internally."

I was wondering that when it happened, however if the refs would have stopped play immediately after the kick then ISU wouldn't have gotten two free throws to begin with. Basically what it ended up boiling down to after the exchange of free throws by both teams was a foul on Carmichael for the kick and WSU got the ball out of bounds.

What a buffoon.

Nobody gave anybody anything. Carmichael went kung fu on Cotton. The obvious flagrant was missed. Illinois State gets fouled and shoots 2 free throws they shouldn't have even been shooting. Refs get the call right, well almost, should have been a flagrant 2 and automatic ejection. WSU gets 2 throws. Illinois State shoots a couple of dumbass quick 3 pointers. WSU continues to score. Illinois State turns the ball over out of bounds. WSU cashes in. Carmichael mows over Carl Hall without a call and karma answers with a missed shot.

Nice try though.
