You can still catch ISUb but not WSU?

That wasn't very difficult.

Yep. Especially Redbird fans. An Indiana State loss actually helps them in the standings but they'd rather see WSU lose. Sorry guys.

Yeah, I hoped INS would win.

But how does that outcome effect the Birds?

Well, you're right. Illinois State loses all tiebreakers to Indiana State so their chance at a Top 4 spot is over. I guess I'm still just amazed at the fact that there's a lot of Redbird fans out there that are blaming their loss Sunday night to "conspiracy theories", Marshall inexcusably calling to the officials that Jackie Carmichael kicked a guy to the chest, and so on, but have ignored the fact that their team shitted their pants down the stretch, WSU made key shots to win, etc. And their fans throwing objects on to the floor is purely acceptable with no eye lashes batted.

Sorry, I jumped the gun. The Redbird fans can root for whoever they want.

Other guy was right. We could pass them if we win out and they do the opposite.

But 4, 5, 6... It's just a different jersey color in STL. That was my thought process.

Sad seeing the bickering between fan bases. Refs made a call, botched the procedure and now it has turned into this.

A very large majority are great fans from both schools. Sad fact of message boards: bad fans get the loudest bullhorn.

Best of luck the rest of the year.

I would tend to agree with everything you typed '45. I remember you very vividly from the past. You're one of the good ones. Knowledgeable, pretty impartial, intelligent, and classy.

I certainly don't think all the Redbird fans are bad. I've obviously been doing a lot of message board reading lately. I should probably do less of that after heated games like that.

Thanks for the words. Good luck as well.

Indiana State fans should be VERY proud of what their team has accomplished this year. You can't expect to be a contender in the Valley on a shoe-string budget. If you spend over 22 million a year on athletics as Wichita State does, then you have permission to bitch. As it stands, you should be EXTREMELY happy with your performance this year.

I am not so sure Indiana State was that much better when they beat Miami. I think Miami was not the same team then they are now. I mean Miami also has a loss to the powerhouse that is Florida Gulf Coast...

I disagree. Indiana State, on certain nights, has been better than any other valley team has been any time all year. When they played at Wichita and at home against Creighton they looked like a completely different team then they have lately. Even more so than the difference between the good games and bad games for any other Valley team.

The Blue has two really good players. If I was the coach, I would ride them, until they drop. Not just in minutes, but with the ball too.

Both players can almost break down defenses at will. They will either score or draw a foul.

Bench scoring is a problem. Only two points last night. Only 11 points for the season.

ISUb has a team that can beat anyone, but can obviously lose to anyone as well. Much of that comes from their offensive system. Coupled with great defense, ISUb's patient offense frustrates the better teams and shortens the games. However, as effective as that offensive style has been against good teams, it also keeps inferior teams in games. Inferior teams just need to stay in games long enough to get hot or get lucky. We've both benefited and been hurt by that style.

I never felt like the Sycamores were in the class of WSU or Creighton, but it seems to me that those two teams have come back towards the field. The MVC tourney is now wide open and the Sycamores have as good a chance as anyone. Their toughest game could likely be the first game...whoever that might turn out to be for ISUb.

Anyway, best wishes to whomever wins and represents the MoVal in the NCAA's.

THE SKY IS FALLING!

A 3 game skid is not good at any point in the season, but the whole "woe is me" skit is overdone. The bottom line on ISU is this: They are talented...more-so than what many gave them credit for even early in the conference season. They are also inconsistent...to the point that lesser teams will frustrate and ultimately beat them.

Wichita and Creighton have BOTH had three game losing streaks in MVC play this year. Both have lost to teams who the probably shouldn't have lost to in that stretch. ISU has the same thing happen and our fans think the world is coming to an end. Chill.

The ILST loss doesn't look as bad, we've split against WSU and CU, swept UNI, and have a win vs. UE in our only meeting so far...6-3 vs the top 5 non ISU teams...that's pretty damn good. The only home conference loss to this point has been WSU.

BB falls at the right time for us, even though I hate it...we need a W vs. Iona in any way possible. Get back on the winning side and key up for STL.

Also, to the poster who asked about Arop; that is the correct spelling and he's a Jr. transfer from Gonzaga.
