I sometimes wonder how Marshall's first year here would have ended up if Griskenas and Brauer hadn't sustained the injuries they did that season. Probably not much worse than McDermott's first year at CU. I remember it looking like they would be a play in team for a while that season. Coaching changes typically cause a blip. That might explain some of IlSU's early struggles this season.

The last four years, WSU has finished:
2009-10 - 2nd place Valley finish, NIT appearance
2010-11 - 2nd place Valley finish, NIT championship
2011-12 - 1st place Valley finish, NCAA appearance
2012-13 - will finish 1st place in Valley with one more Valley win, likely NCAA appearance

Those are four successful seasons in my book, not two. Right now, unless Marshall leaves, I anticipate WSU to continue to be one of the top Valley programs.

And while I'm a die-hard Braves fan, every season there are a couple other Valley teams that I enjoy watching and kind of pull for, whether it be past experiences of following their "teams" or just the way that a team gels. I have grown to like this Shockers team after only knowing a couple of their players at the start of the season. Their home court environment is outstanding and I think every league team is envious of the way their fans support and get into the games. Of course, the Jays have awesome support too, but the environment they produce just doesn't compare to Koch Arena.
It will be a sad day if/when the Shox leave the Valley for greener pastures, but it will be a WHOLE lot easier to pick up a road win vs. any other team that joins. :)

Acedad, whose son is yours on the Aces?

Lucious Wagner, bottom left in the photo, circa 2001-2005. We did not win too many games, but we had a lot of fun.

A good lookin' athlete. 6'4" guards are always nice. I don't remember him, but then again, I don't pay attention to many players outside of the Shockers unless they really stand out for good or bad reasons.

I remember Luscious cause of his name. If i remember right he was a started and maybe the 2nd or 3rd best player on their team. Pretty solid player if I'm remembering the right guy. I'm curious what the meaning of Lucious is so I looked it up. Lucious is latin for "light". Pretty creative name Acedad.

Not creative at all. He was named after my father.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.
