Yep. 2 million per team in the Big East for football and basketball.

The buzz is that the Big East basketball conference on its own will get $10m in '13-'14 from ESPN, then $20m for all sports in '14-'15 (assuming that's when the C7 leaves). If you sit down and do the math, the C7 are taking a few hundred thousand away from the rest by leaving.

Why would McDermott want to leave? He is currently in a situation where he only has one serious competitor (commitment wise) in WSU and should be able to get into the tournament just about every year. Might not be so easy in the Pope 10.

not to mention he as really only had success at this level.
