Hopefully this helps our guys, but the real key is Nevin, Will, and Avery playing well and getting some depth so guys dont have to play 30+ minutes a game 3 days in a row if we make it that far. Otherwise even if we make the championship, we are gonna be toasted n its gonna be tough to win if we are playing a team like WSU who will be fairly fresh. All signs point to WSU winning this, but,
in St. Louis the timekeeper still owns you

I will take Booker's word for it when he says he couldn't have beaten the clock.

Creighton and WSU ought to be at large locks so someone other than them. I"m not allowed to vote for Evansville ,who will win it all, so my vote goes for the other Indiana team

If you lose today, and need to win the tournament to get into the NCAAs, I'll be rooting against Creighton more than ever.

You guys limping to the finish line that badly isn't going to do anyone in the MVC any favors. I'd rather have a hot Evansville or UNI represent the conference in that case. Creighton would get more media coverage because of Doug, but they'd be more likely to make a Sweet 16 run.

I'm equal-opportunity as far as the non-conference stuff goes. Outside of wanting WSU to win, I'm only cheering for things that benefit WSU indirectly (and against things that hurt WSU indirectly). Which at this point includes conference prestige and sending the most MVC teams possible to the tournament, with the best chance to advance. We all get the same amount from NCAA payouts, so whatever maximizes that.

If Creighton goes to the Sweet 16, WSU makes more money, so I'm all for it. But if Creighton's going to suck it up, then I want another team that is hotter to have a shot.

... okay, I'll also irrationally cheer against Creighton in St. Louis regardless. But I'll cheer for you come the NCAAs ;)

After watching the first half of this game there is no way in hell UNI wins it...

Imo, UNI, ISUb, UE and ISUr have all been exasperating teams for their fans to follow. Among those four, which team could anyone say with any reliability that that particular team will go to the tournament final game?
Do you go with who's hot right now? Well, none of these teams is really hot. ISUr had lost 3 in a row before blowing out MSU on their senior night tonight, when they could do no wrong. ISUb has been belching a bit of late. UE's been a bit up and down recently, a bit more up than down. UNI was very hot this month but now has lost 2 in a row, though both were on the road.

And concerning WSU and CU: obviously, neither has been as dominant as the non-con and early portion of the conference schedule portended.

Finally, Drake and SIU each have exhibited the ability to knock off either WSU or CU.

Or, how about some reverse psychology: CU, UNI, WSU and ISUr all get tremendously pissed off coming into the tournament since they sort of stunk it up a bit coming into it, and they blow everyone else off the court leading to the semi-finals.

Or, frequently, how teams match-up can foretell the tale, though nothing is certain. Just ask Wichita fans after tonight. And we won't know what those match-ups will be until Saturday. So....predictions, generally speaking, are a waste of time. Making them gives me a fleeting sense of omniscient power that typically gets pricked and properly popped like the silly balloon that the prediction is. But it's all fun and games with this stuff, so I will heave ahead and say:

My almost final prediction: Come tournament time, every team will revert back to the best team that they were during the year, excepting CU and ISUb. Somehow, either UNI or ISUr will make it to the finals. Shocks will win (assuming that they revert back to the best team that they were). If none of this occurs, all bets are off.

There simply is no gimme in this league this year, and frankly, that's pretty much how it's been with college basketball in general this year.

A play-in team could legitimately win this thing and shouldn't surprise no one.
