College athletics is about here and NOW, what have you done for me lately. Just 4-5 years ago, Butler was a small-major CBB program averaging 4K fans per game. A few years later, after a couple super deep tournament runs and some great players coming through the program, here they are now, getting invited to the A-10 and now the Big East. Its the same thing. Its about right place and right time, and Creighton is fortunate that this is happening now.

Go read the VCU board. They banked on 3 years of success getting them in and they are waiting at the alter. Your argument does not hold water.

Some of you are whiny bitches.

BCPanther, I hope you never consider taking a new job, or moving to a "better" neighborhood, or consider any opportunity that might better you and your family.

I applaud Creighton. Good for them. I'm jealous as hell, and wish that Bradley had continued the on court success from the mid 80s so that we would have been worthy of such an invite. Any fan of any school that wishes they weren't in the same boat is a liar.

I think it's great to see one of our own move on to the bigger stage, and hope that they can continue to have great success. Perhaps it's a model the rest of us can follow. Perhaps we can continue a solid relationship with Creighton so that we might receive some benefit from their taking the next step.

Congrats to the Bluejays. They've done things the right way and are being rewarded for it. That's how it's supposed to work here in America.

PS. I don't think Doug has much of anything to do with this. I think Creighton's 20 years of solid hoops success and the brand they have built has everything to do with it.

In addition, and remember as an old school Bradley fan, I HATE everything ISU. But, why is it that the exact same situation with Beane Jr moving to SIU isn't decried by Redbird fans? Why don't they whine and cry like UNI fans? Either they recognize the situation for what it is, or the tears of Panther fans are the only thing that can keep the corn green in July.

Or it could be that Beane is a role player and not a national POY candidate.

I don't think CU got in because of DM. Without the Altman years no doubt they are not in this league. But I am not sure they get the invite without him. Not necessarily him, but the success they've had and the publicity they've gotten by having a Naismith Award candidate. If they had continued the last few years the way they had been the couple years before, averaging a 3rd or 4th place team and an NIT berth, not sure they would be in this situation.

Good thing that Northern Iowa has never left another conference to accept an offer from someone else, right?

Oh wait.... If UNI didn't spurn another conference they would still be a little directional teacher's college that nobody has ever even heard of.

Pretty hypocritical.

By the way, did Creighton ever say they are leaving?

I'm pretty sure they still are.

Anybody that stops at half court and then positions himself in front of the other teams center to try to induce a foul gets no vote from me. I get his other antics (only Odum is better at looking like he is withstanding severe blows) while actually driving towards the basket etc that's just what I would call gamesmanship but that move he made and what could have rolled EO's ankle really sorta pissed me off.

A fine player indeed and frankly is right there with McD except his team has basically been a .500 club and McD's hasn't. Thats what separates them in my opinion. Really nothing to do with Colt as McD has a better cast but the winning teams guy is going to get the votes and deservedly so.

Also I would like to ask why you are mad at CU? Would you not expect the same from UNI in the same situation. I sure would of WSU and certainly hold nothing against CU.

Absolutely agree. Not mad a CU at all, but that doesn't mean we need to bend over backwards to praise them on their way out.

Colt Ryan has had a marvelous career at UE and is every bit as deserving as Doug is.

Doug can have the POY. Won't bother me at all because Colt will get the conference tournament MVP or most outstanding player...whatever they call it. I'm stating it here and pls call me on it if we loose. UE WILL WIN THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT.

I feel Colt has proved himself. Doug is as deserving but I am biased. :bounce:
