They have many of these every year and have for at least 10 years.

Might be true for UNI, but Des Moines is much closer to KC than St Louis....about 3-3.5 hour drive vs 5.5-6 hours drive. Drake also has a lot more alumni in KC.

True, KC for UNI is approximately 45 minutes closer. Not a huge change...

Chicago and Indy make more sense than KC if Creighton is gone.

From my perspective, other MVC schools and fans of other MVC schools need to do a better job of promoting Arch Madness to their fan base. Attended my first Arch Madness back in the late/mid-90s, just after Dana took over. CU was staying at what was then the Embasssy Suites at Lacledes Landing. CU went in as a mid-seed and not expected to win, but had heard from a jays fan that went the year before how much fun they had eventhough CU went out first or second round that time. CU lost quarter finals, but had a great time. Have gone back almost every year thereafter whether CU was favored or not, and usually stay for the final game (though not every time when the finals were on Monday since sometimes had to go to work on Monday).

Started as a guys weekend, but quickly became a family trip after a couple of years. My kids were 19 months and 10 monts old when each first attended. It has never failed to dissapoint as a great weekend, whether CU is playing on Sunday or gets trashed by UNI or Drake on Saturday. We always stay for at least the first half of the championship even if CU is out and often for the full game. Creighton and its fans have quickly turned it into a weekend to catch up with friends and fellow alums, as many come from all over the country for this weekend.

If other schools embrace it and market it as an annual gathering of fellow fans, win or lose, and if the fans recognize it as a great get away and chance to catch up with friends and family, it will thrive with or without CU.

If Creighton does leave for the Big East then when it's time to bid for the MVC tournament then I can pretty much guarantee that Omaha will make a big push for it. There will be some people who will bitch about not wanting to go there because of Creighton but frankly it would be the perfect spot for the tournament.

Even with Creighton, Omaha is a terrible idea. Without Creighton in the conference, Omaha makes zero sense at all.

I do not understand your logic. Geographically, Omaha makes zero sense for anyone other than the Iowa schools.

Doesn't make much sense to me as it isn't really located near anyone except maybe Drake

If we are going to have it in an outlying area, we might as well move it to a Las Vegas, Orlando or somewhere it is a destination.

Truth is, Only 3 cities make an sense at all, STL, KC and Chicago. KC would make less sense is Creighton leaves.

Well St. Louis hasn't made geographic sense for for WSU, CU, Drake, and somewhat UNI. KC makes far better sense to those schools but yet they've played in St. Louis for years. The CenturyLink is smaller than Scottrade to accommodate what will be a smaller crowd plus you'll have much more interest in the MVC tournament from Omaha locals than St. Louis locals, at least for the foreseeable future.
