I don't think it is that big of a deal, but it seems that Redbird fans don't want to let it go.

I can attest to the fact that this man was, indeed, no further than 10 feet from the incident.

FWIW, at least one of the UNI male cheerleaders is in the military.

So it's obvious that Jackie Carmichael hates America too! It's suddenly very apparent why he chose to play for the REDbirds!

That was added in reply to the dig at the size of UNI's cheerleaders....and specifically to the one I'm sure it was aimed at....who is an active member in the US Military.

And I'm pretty sure Carmichael could commit murder and there'd be Redbird fans on here defending him.
Oh, that was just a silly, willy, nilly game. And why even bring up murder because it is silly, willy, nilly to compare an egregious violation that literally has a 0 percent chance of occurring to minor inconsequential occurrences.

He has played in this league for 4 years and has never had anything but a positive conotation around his name, from what I know. All of a sudden these two isolated incidents happen, both of which have unclear motives, and everyone acts like he's a total dirtbag. That is why I have a hard time believing that he was unprovoked. I don't mean to trash talk other fanbases or anything. I am simply standing up for my player and a guy who I know is a class act in this league.

I am just going to say one more thing here and then I am done with this thread and on to Friday's game.

Have you ever noticed that after someone commits a heinous crime like murder the friends and family members all say "I have no idea how he could do something like this. He was always such a great kid and this is totally out of character." Seems similar here. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean things like this haven't been festering for a while. You really have no idea what is going on behind the scenes in someones life or even really who they are.

Point being just because it hasn't happened before doesn't mean he hasn't been this guy the whole time. It more than likely wasn't unprevoked, but as a player and certainly as a coach you have to let things fans or even cheerleaders say go.

Alright... That does it UNI..... I walked past the ISU rec center tonight and saw Jackie in the gym... Sounds normal right?!?!?! No..... not normal... He was practicing kick boxing with Bruce Lee IV.... the kicking bag was painted Purple with a yellow "UNI"...... All these false accusations must have really pissed him off... he is coming out kicking.... YOU'RE NEXT...... see you in the LOU for a good ol spanking...

So you're telling me this one incident where we are unclear as to what EXACTLY took place, then that makes him a bad guy? Ok if you say so.

Litterally nothing about the karate kick, or what happened at UNI is unclear to anyone, except ISU fans who refuse to believe that their team isn't floating around with their wings and halo

I don't think he is a bad guy. However, I do think that he was a little too worked up for a guy who has been in control of things for 4 full years. I guess he really gets rattled when he plays poorly. Just didn't see the calm and mental toughness that we have seen out of him over the years.

The vast majority of ISUr fans are deeply disappointed with this year's team.

I for one do not think this team has wings or halos or for that matter harps. Then again it's not as bad as some here want to portray. If you think ISUr fans are a bunch of numb nuts and the ISUr team is littered with thugs, fine by me. No big deal.

As for UNI, you have an excellent team that is well coached. I've said here many times in the past that I think UNI has the best coach in the league. I have a lot of respect for what UNI has accomplished over the last decade in both football and basketball. Being from the Quad Cities I know of numerous people who were graduates of UNI who received excellent educations who were able to compete in the work place. If ISUr does not win the tournament this weekend (most likely won't) I hope UNI does.

And litterally zero posters here have said anything about ISU players being thugs.

For some reason, though, pointing out that Carmichael f-ing karate kicked a dude on purpose and then a week later gets into it (along with his HC) with the UNI student section and cheerleaders DURING THE GAME means we all think ISU is nothing but thugs....
