Hmm, Interesting to think about. Obviously Creighton would make incredibly more money in the new league. But as much more as we would make, would we be spending even more than that on all the travel expenses. For all sports, mens and women's, we would have to fly everywhere I believe, and Hotel expenses for all the athletes are going to be higher in NYC/Chicago than in Carbondale/peoria plus as it is now, i doubt some sports even stay in hotels when they go to Drake or UNI or Wichita, theyd have to at every opponent in the Big East. Logically it sounds like we'd make much more than the extra travel expenses, but I don't know the Math. Maybe a couple sports would have to be cut idk. I'm almost positive Creighton goes if offered.

Per the article CU spends $15 million on athletics. The Catholic 7 average $27.5 million. The difference is 12.5 million. CU is going to get $3 million a year TV (plus 1-3 million more a year in NCAA tournament money). That reduces the difference to 8.5 to 6.5 million per year. Does CU plan increasing their athletic budget so they are not the Evansville of C7 and are at least at or near the average? Or will they pocket the money to offset the present expenditures?

I'm sure somebody is running the numbers to figure it out.

The other thing about it though is that Creighton will have to spend more than the rest of the C7. Because travel expenses will be greater for Creighton considering every road game in every sport, mens and womens, will be a long flight east. Where as for the other schools, their only long trips of the year will be when they play Creighton.

Do you think CU fans will flock to the C7 tournament on the east coast? Or will they continue to come to STL and root for the Shockers?

What is the point of a one day trip to the Lou?

It will be cheaper than a 1 day trip to Madison square garden?
