One more thing:

Pound for pound, inch for inch, Tekele Cotton is one the best defenders I have ever seen. I'm actually taller than him, and I couldn't imagine being asked to do what he does. In the Creighton game @ Wichita, there was about an 8 minute window where he dominated on defense.

While I fully understand looking at steal statistics and picking from the Bradley guards for DPoY, I think Cotton definitely should have been on the defensive team. He an average size point guard that is regularly asked to defend guys half a foot taller and 30-50 lbs heavier, and he does better than anyone on our roster.

I have a hard time buying that anyone on a team that just gave up 91 points "dominated on defense" for any stretch of time, let alone 8 or 9 minutes.

I've already talked about the fact that Wichita did an absolutely piss-poor, embarrassing job of defense at Creighton. But I was referring to the 67-64 game @ Wichita.

And who do you replace?

I'm with Baller here.

Koch and Tuttle had good years, but did they really outplay the others on the list?

As to Sonnen - no frickin way. Gibbs leads the conference in both assists (it isn't even close) and assist/TO ratio and he only got honorable mention. Sonnen isn't top 15 in scoring, top 15 in rebounding or even top 10 in assists. Basically he is a three pt shooting specialist and only ranks fourth in accuracy at doing that. If they had an all tattoo team, he'd be the captain though, so there is that.

There are only 15 spots for 10 different teams. Unless you finish 1st or 2nd in the league, you probably only are guarenteed 1 player on any of the teams. It's pretty amazing that the Defensive Player of the year didn't even make honorable mention for all conference.

What a myopic viewpoint. Go look at the Shockers team defense stats for the ENTIRE season.

Yet Bradley...who finished 8th and lost to UNI twice gets 5 players mentioned

UNI finished alone in third, with wins over WSU and CU...yet apparently did it with nothing but absolutely s*** talent.

I am not saying he deserves to be on there, but where do you get that Sonnen is 4th in the conference in 3pt accuracy? He is 9th in the nation in 3pt accuracy, and there are not 3 Valley players ahead of him.

If anything Sonnen would have been on the defensive team, but he doesn't rack up defensive "stats".

The thing is we don't have flashy outstanding players. We do have a great "team" though. None of our players put up flashy statistics. They just do what is asked, and on any given night we will have a different leading scorer, rebounder, or assist man. Sucks, but I would rather have a team that finishes high than players that rack up post season awards.

UNIFAN, i am not sure why that list is inaccurate, but it is. I noticed in when McD was not on there. Maybe there is an insanely high required number of 3 point attempts. this list is more accurate
